Elmer is knitted in the round, with stranded colorwork on his body. The legs are knitted first, then underbody and joint together to knit the body. The head, ears, tusks and tail are knitted separately and sewn on.
Baby elephant is knitted from the trunk in one piece to the tail. The legs, ears, and tusks are knitted separately and sewn on.

Finished toy size: Elmer is approximately 14.5” / 37cm long and 9” / 23cm tall, baby elephant is approximately 14.5” / 37cm long and 7” / 18cm tall.

Yarn:
Less than a ball of medium weight yarn in two colors for each.

Yardage:
Elmer, the elephant: 170 – 180 yards / 156 – 165 meters of MC and 130 – 140 yards / 119 – 128 meters of CC.
Baby elephant: 180 – 200 yards / 165 – 183 meters of MC and 60 – 70 yards / 54 – 64 meters of CC, 20 yards of white yarn.

Recommended Needle Size: DPN US#5/3.75 mm (set of 5). Or use your preferred needles for knitting in the round.

Notions: Yarn needle, scissors, stitch holders, stitch marker, polyester fiberfill (1 small bag), two safety eyes each.
