This pattern is available from ravelry.com for $4.50.

Skills needed: provisional cast on, knitted on edging, k2tog, ssk, centered double decrease, yarnover before a purl stitch.

Yarn I used: Venezia Worsted (Cascade Yarns), Worsted / 10 ply (9 wpi), Yardage; 218 yards (199 meters) 100 grams (3.53 ounces) 70% Merino Wool, 30% Silk.
I used just over 1 hank, or about 240 yards.

Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 inches

Needle size: US 7 / 4.5 mm 16” or 24” circular and double points (for the edging)

Notions: St markers, row counter, yarn needle, waste yarn.

Notes: There are 2 different versions of this cowl, for the green cowl (I’ll call it version 2, or V.2) I used a worsted weight yarn, size 7 (4.5mm) needles and there are decreases in the second chart repeat. In V.1 (purple) I used a DK weight yarn, size 6 (4 mm) needles and no decreases. I prefer the version with the decreases because it is not as floppy when you are wearing it and shows off the design better.
One could certainly use a DK weight yarn and make V.2.

Keep in mind that if you make the version with no decreasing it will use more yarn!
