KAL Thread

Endorphins is the third design in the Neurotransmitters pattern series whichexplores stripes, colour and value, and how they can be used to “shape” your body.
Placement of colour and stripe heights are used to create or enhance an hourglass shape. A single skein of each colour is used, making this an excellent pattern for colourplay!

OR

Sport: 25 sts and 34rows per 10 cm/4” in stockinette stitch stripes pattern (swatch 4 row stripes), after blocking.

In order to ensure the stripes line up in your sweater, I’ve indicated row counts instead of lengths in sections with stripes. For this reason, matching row gauge is essential to a successful sweater.

  • Sport: 3.25 mm/US 3 or size needed to get gauge. 80 cm/
32” minimum circular needle is recommended for working the collar

In Endorphins, colours are divided into lights, mediums and darks. While the stripe pattern remains constant through each piece of the sweater, the dark and medium colours can be interchanged from piece to piece. Only light stripes remain consistent (same colour, same placement) throughout the sweater. Because the eye is naturally drawn to light colours, these stripes appear closer, so capture our attention first, pushing the medium and dark stripes into the background. With light colour stripes acting as one consistent element to focus on, differences in dark and medium colour stripes throughout the sweater are less noticeable.
