Like a quick shot of energy, this easy scarf pattern is perfect for when you need a little kick-start. Knit length-wise, the rows of stockinette and garter eyelet work up quickly and don’t require a chart, making this an ideal project for traveling or catching up on television. Two sizes mean you can knit a skinny version for the fashionsta on your holiday list, or work the more traditional shorter length to create a unisex look. One scarf will use a single skein of hand-dyed fingeringweight yarn, so you can stashbust for holiday-gift giving – or splurge and pick up a special skein and make one for yourself!

Samples were worked in J. Knits Supersock Me in the Rhinebeck 2009 colorway (Skinny scarf) and Dream in Color Smooshy in November Muse (Short scarf).

Skills needed: stockinette and garter stitch, basic increases and decreases, and working a knitted cast-on.
