This beautiful fair isle yoke sweater from 1946, is knitted flat and then seamed together.

The sweater shown in the photographs was knitted using a looser tension than that now recommended.

The yarn to make this lovely sweater can be purchased by following this link, Susan Crawford Excelana Wool 4ply.

ERRATA FROM FIRST ISSUE OF BOOK/PATTERN:
PLEASE NOTE: It is important to work the recommended number of rows after the armhole shaping as stated on both the front and the back pieces - 41 rows on the back, but only 6 on the front. At this point on the front the fair isle yoke commences.

There is a colour error in the pattern on Row 13 on the yoke - Y has been used as in the original pattern, this should read O.
My apologies for any confusion this might have caused.
