A friend of mine suggested the name for this sock, and the minute I heard it, I knew it was the perfect choice. Fair winds and following seas is a sailor’s blessing, or a wish for a safe and comfortable journey home. I imagine the cables as calm waves and the garter stitch as ripples in the water created by a gentle breeze. I hope this sock is a blessing and a comfort to your hands as you knit and your feet as you journey.

This sock is knit from the top down, with a heel flap and wedge style toe. Charts and line by line instructions are included.
