This is an advanced beginner pattern. You will need to know the knit stitch, knit 2 stitches together, joining another color yarn, knitting in the round on double pointed needles.
You will get a number of hats from one skein of yarn.
You will also need to purchase a feather attached to a clip. I found the best selection at Hobby Lobby.
