Based on classic Hollywood-style nighties sold by mail order in mid-century magazines, this babydoll is knit with a mix of lace and novelty yarns to mimic feathers and chiffon. The blend of two different eyelash lengths and textures, or the use of a multitextured combination yarn, is essential for a rich, feathery look. The Austin Powers Fembots lent a tinge of wickedness to the classic ultra-femme pastel version, but if the wide-eyed girlishness of all that pink still turns your gut, knit the black version for a Samantha/Serena naughty doppelganger vibe with all the retro appeal but none of the priss. Rowwr!

Due to different yarns/gauges used, I’m including the yarn info here instead of in the yarn section.
