A cute lacy hat in two sizes, perfect for Autumn. The hat pictured is made with my own handspun, handdyed Bluefaced Leicester yarn, but I’ve suggested two commercially available yarns that would be fine too. If you want me to spin you up some yarn for this pattern though, just let me know!

I’ve included instructions for both dpns and a single circular needle (they’re slightly different). This pattern is suitable for an intermediate knitter, although an adventurous beginner knitter would manage too. You will need to be able to work in the round on dpns or a circular needle and know the basic lace stitches: k2tog, ssk and yo.

Yarn: One skein Rowan Pure Wool 4-ply (=159m), or one skein Knit Picks Palette (=211m) or similar.

Needles: 4 4.5mm/US 7 dpns OR one 4.5mm/US 7 16” circular needle PLUS four 4.5mm/ US 7 dpns

Gauge: 22sts and 28 rows = 4” in stocking stitch

Dimensions: Tight size : fits 22” head tightly, loose size: fits 22” head loosely or larger heads tightly.

Extras: One embroidery needle, and if using a single circular needle, you’ll need a removable stitch marker.
