From the book:

I was drawn to this bobble pattern, which I found in a book from my knitting library, because it looked … a bit obscene. I wondered if anyone else would share my association. I whipped up a swatch and showed it to some girlfriends. “What does this look like to you?” A few unfazed responses offered “leaves” or “waves.” “Really?” I asked, “Nothing familiar?” They finally exclaimed, “OMG! It looks like girly bits!” The Fertility Blanket was born from these suggestive bobbles, and it’ll make a great gift for a gal pal—whether she’s thinking of getting preggers or not. Not normally a bobble fan, I think they work adorably here, adding interest without kitsch, to make a sly celebration
of ladyhood.
