I knit these as a lark for a friend’s Christmas tree. Enough people asked for the pattern that I wrote it up (though you could likely come up with something just like it on your own if you wanted to).

They seemed like the perfect project to use to raise a bit of money for a local organization that could use a bit of help, so all proceeds for this pattern will go to the Cleveland Food Bank.

These are quick to make, use only a few yards of yarn, and make great Christmas ornaments or present toppers. The pattern includes instructions to make the 7 hats shown here.

Gauge and yarn choice are not terribly important. These all use a DK or light worsted as the main color (the solid one) and a fingering as the contrast color (the variegated one). They are made at a gauge of about 4 stitches per inch (to give a finished size of 3 inches across and 2.5 inches high). But you should feel free to use whatever yarns you have on hand and to work at whatever gauge works best for you.
