What am I missing?
Fiery Searcher Hat
The Fiery Searcher Hat and Fingerless Mitts are available individually and as a set.
Worked in fingering weight yarn, the Fiery Searcher Hat features 1x1 ribbing that transitions into a cable-and-lace stitch pattern.
The pattern provides directions for one size, a women’s medium, which should fit heads measuring 20-25 inches/61-64cm in circumference. To make either project larger and smaller, you can substitute finer or heavier weight yarn and vary the needle size accordingly.
Stitch patterns are provided in both written form and charts. Explanations are given for cables and other stitches that might be unfamiliar.
The Fiery Searcher Hat is named after the kind of beetle Sam used to make earrings for Suzy in Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom. I was delighted when I saw a trivia question about the beetle at Amherst Cinema. “Fiery Searcher” sounded like a great name for a beetle and seemed pretty perfect for the orange mitts I was in the midst of designing. After finishing the mitts, I got inspired to design a matching beret.
