This coaster is made in Filet Crochet. I has 2 layers: the filet heart design layer on top and a solid layer on the bottom for added absorption and protection of your table/surface. The 2 layers are joined while working the edging. The thread requirements are 25 yds of white and 40 yds of red. It looks equally as nice reversing the red and white throughout!

This is an intermediate pattern. The stitches used are sl st, ch, sc, dc, open mesh, closed mesh and shells. Instructions are given in the pattern for the open mesh, closed mesh and shells.
