This is a fun hat for any celebration. Include your kids in on this pattern, by having them cut out differnt shapes in felt for their firecracker hat. (circles, stars, swirls) I have included a crochet star pattern, if you would rather not use felt.

The pattern comes in sizes newborn to large adult. I consider this pattern to be EASY. In this pattern, I used one stitch that wasn’t basic. It is a reverse single crochet (crab stitch). It is easy stitch to learn and gives a nice finished edge. Embellish the stars with buttons for more of a “country” look.
