This is a pattern compilation of five summer hats. The lacy patterns are perfect for warm weather and are great stash buster. Knit them from cotton or a cotton blend worsted weight yarn. Included are

Jolie, An Indoor/Out Lace Hat can be worn as a beret or as a mini puff hat. Either way, it’s a great wardrobe accessory. This hat can be knit in a few hours by the average knitter

A Good Hair Day Hat is for whether you’re having a good hair day or a bad hair day. It is lacy and feminine making it a nice fashion accessory. For those “bad” hair days, just cover up your hair and no one will be the wiser

Elsie’s Vintage Flapper has a hint of a wavy brim and an easy lace inset bordered by your choice of a Vikkel Braid, garter ridge or without a border. A puffy crocheted flower (optional) adds to the vintage flapper look. This is a great hat for all seasons when you want to add a touch of glam to your everyday attire.

Mary’s Cotton Summer Cloche is a light weight summery design fashioned after hats worn in the 1920s. The brim can be worn with a sassy flip upward at the front, sides or back. When the brim is worn downward, it has a gently flair. A random stitch is used to create a brim that is firm and stretchy but does not roll. An airy mesh inset is knitted followed by more random stitching and another mesh section to echo the first inset.

Carol’s Summer Cloche incorporates a random stitch, a lace stitch and the Vikkel Braid. Carol enjoyed learning and knitting the Vikkel braid and likes the way it frames lacy insets and suggested that the braid be used for not one but two lacy insets. The hat is a good way to learn the technique called the Vikkel Braid.

The Jolie and Good Day Hat each require U.S. Size 9 needles and approximately 150 yards of worsted weight. The other three hats require U.S. Size 7 needles and between 90 and 110 yards of worsted weight.

I wanted to offer all of these hats together at one reasonable cost, so knitters can enjoy a variety of patterns.

Two patterns have detailed instructions for knitting a Vikkel braid and a pattern for a crocheted flower is included.
