The Echoscape Cowl is a cozy rib-knit cowl that flares at the base to fit snugly and be worn comfortably underneath a coat. It proves to be very cozy and warm when knit up in a thick yarn, and a pretty little adornment when knitted up in laceweight. The flare at the base allows it to fall below the neckline of sweaters and lie comfortably flat under coats, showing off the pattern nicely without bunching.

This newly overhauled pattern reflects what I’ve learned both in pattern-writing and knitting techniques since I originally released it. It should be much easier to follow now, with an easier cast-on and bind-off that both create neat edges, charts and written instructions for both the body and the flare, and a little calculator (in the PDF) to help you use yarn of any gauge. I just tried it with laceweight, and it’s quite pretty!
