Gauge: 21 st in 10cm / 4 in

Recommended yarn: any to obtain the gauge. DK for regular look, or thinner yarn on larger needles for daintier look. For the sample bonnet I have used DK for the main body of the bonnet and Lace on larger needles for the contrast part. You will need 30-80 grams of yarn (depending on the size of the bonnet and the yarn weight).

Recommended needle size: to obtain the gauge. Your needle size might vary depending on how tight or loose your knitting is. Please be sure to make a gauge swatch to make sure you obtain the gauge. For most, 3.5 – 4.5mm needles work the best.

You will need: yarn, knitting needles, darning needle to weave in the yarn ends and to sew the back of the bonnet. Crochet hook in the same mm size as the knitting needles to make the ties (if you are making crochet ties).

The bonnet is knit flat.

there are two options to shape the rounded back of the bonnet.

also, there are two ways to finish the bonnet and add the ties - knit or crochet.
