Focal Point is a study in stripes, short rows, texture, and color! It has a lovely slipped stitch border and tons of garter squishiness!

It’s also a fun, quick, little enigma of a knit and sure to be fun from start to finish! DON’T knit a boring scarf, DO knit a smashingly fun one!

What IS Scarfmas?

Well. It all started two years ago and has been going strong ever since! The idea is to make a scarf/cowl/shawl and split it up over small increments to allow YOU as a knitter to have a gift under the tree for YOU! It can also be that perfect last minute gift for someone special that you just don’t know what to make them!

The idea, on the whole, is to take a break from the holiday crazy and have FUN! Make something amazing and squishy in little pieces over a 12 day stretch! No stress or worries!

CHOOSING YARN:
The BEST part!!! This year’s scarfmas pattern uses 4 colors!

You’ll need three colors that play together! Pick a light, medium, and dark color palette! I used a light grey, a sky blue with purple speckles, and a dark purple that has pops of fuchsia and green.

Place the colors from light to dark and you’ll have A, B, and C!

Color D is an accent! Pick something special, bright, contrasting, and make it POP! I used a bright ORANGE to really pop against the softer palette and making it shine!

You might be curious as to the question of mixing weights. You do NOT have to do this! You could always use four worsted weights and rock it out! The fingering weight yarn weight is to add some tactile differences in the fabric, add some light notes, and make it easy to use scraps!

NOTES:

  • The pattern will be released in stages. Every day you will receive an update with the newest addition to the pattern!
