Folia is an elegant shawl worked sideways, with 3 colors of light fingering weight yarn. It is made of garter stitch paired with a lovely lace pattern that is worked in bands, adding delicate leaves on the shawl. When the shawl is completed, stitches are picked up along the bottom edge to create a border that is embellished by a picot bind off.

Pattern is adaptable in number of colors and in size. Gauge isn’t crucial and can vary, but the final size and yardage will vary too. I recommend using lightweight yarn, from lace to sport weight.

It measures 82” (208 cm) wide at top edge and 15” (39 cm) high at point.

Folia est un châle élégant, tricoté d’un côté à l’autre, avec trois coloris de fil super fin (light fingering). Il est tricoté en point mousse, avec des bandes de dentelle qui lui ajoutent un joli motif de feuilles. Quand le tricot du châle est terminé, on doit relever les mailles le long du bord inférieur afin de tricoter une bordure de dentelle. Les mailles sont rabattues en picot pour compléter la bordure de façon délicate.

Le patron peut être modifié pour utiliser le nombre de couleurs voulu et pour obtenir une grandeur différente. L’échantillon peut varier, mais la grandeur finale et le métrage varieront également. Je recommande l’utilisation d’un fil très léger, entre les grosseurs “lace” et “sport” (0-2).
