This lovely triangle lace shawl is easy to knit with just one skein of lace-weight yarn.

The word foramina means openings, holes, or passageways. The two lace stitch patterns used here reminded me of windows, doorways, and arches.

This pattern has been test knit and tech edited. All stitch patterns are both written and charted.

A NOTE ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND SKILLS:
Are you new to lace knitting? This would be a great choice for a first lace knitting project for an adventurous knitter. Skills and stitches used:

  • Garter tab cast on or learn a new way to start a triangle shawl with Judy’s Magic Cast On
  • knit and purl
  • yarn over
  • slip,slip, knit (ssk) and knit 2 together (k2tog)
  • centered double decrease (cdd)

A NOTE ABOUT YOUR YARN CHOICE:
While the original yarn used for this pattern has been discontinued, any lace-weight yarn of wool, silk, alpaca, and/or other animal fibers will work for this pattern. You will need at least 750 yards total.
