You get two patterns in one here!

What happens when you knit two, separate cowls, using the same needles, the same yarn, and the same basic stitch pattern, but you change a couple of minor details? You get two different, though obviously related, cowls. I made the above cowl twice, changing yarn colors. I knitted one in-the-round, and I knitted one back and forth, adding a round of all-knit to the pattern. As I was knitting the first one, I was pleasantly surprised to see a texture of bumps developing that fell into swirls, quite unexpectedly, as I worked. It made such a pretty, reversible fabric that I decided to leave it unblocked. I then cast on again, this time changing up the colors and knitting the pattern back and forth, working every-other-row in all knit to keep an obvious front and back appearance. The result is an equally beautiful, though completely different sister cowl. I love them both the same.
