This is an easy level pattern with only the basic crochet skills needed to make it. I did add an interesting twist with one stitch that makes it a little more interesting and adds to the texture and beauty of the piece. The piece is made flat and them ends are flat seamed together, with a half twist to make the cowl drape nicely when worn. When laid out flat before ends are seamed, the finished piece is 8 in X 42 in.

You can use any sport weight yarn, and a fuzzy type looks best, which Is why I used it, but I can’t guarantee that a non-fuzzy yarn will make the cowl look like mine shown in my photos. Sine fuzzy sport weight is no more costly or hard to find than non-fuzzy, so I suggest going with fuzzy. :)

I used a true red but you may use any color you like and will get the same effect and look that mine has. I used a K hook to give the piece a more lacy open look. I used all of three 3 oz. skeins to total 9 oz.
