Wrap yourself up in the Garden State. This striped triangular shawl with lace detailing uses two coordinating colors of fingering weight yarn. The state flower of New Jersey - the Garden State - is the Common Blue Violet, and lacy Blue Violets bloom throughout the top of the shawl. The allover lace pattern at the bottom stripe of the shawl is inspired by our pollinators: butterflies & bees. For a little extra whimsy, three optional crochet flowers adorn the bottom of this petal-soft shawl.

Construction Details:
The Garden State shawl is worked from the top center down towards the bottom edge in one piece. Two colors are striped – one in garter stitch and the other in stockinette with lace patterns incorporated. An elastic bind off is recommended for this shawl because it is blocked to a rather loose gauge to enhance its laciness. There are instructions for optional crochet flowers that can be attached to the shawl as embellishments.
