This pattern is part of the eBook “Knitting Untangled - The Easier Way to Learn to Knit.” available from my web site and at iTunes. Please note there are two versions of the book; an interavtive PDF with embedded video, viewable using Acrobat Reader version 8 and later which will play on any computer but the video portion will not play if viewed on a tablet like iPad and an Pad version available at iTunes.

The Garter Step Scarf is a very simple pattern. It has just one pattern row and that row is knitted over and over until the end of the scarf. I use a slip stitch to start each row which creates a lovely chained edge. This scarf is easily modified, creating either a longer/shorter or a wider/narrower version by adding/subtracting a multiple of 3 stitches to the number you will cast on. And either knitting the scarf longer or shorter than what I have done. The yarn used, Quince & Co’s Puffin is delightful. It is a plump, chunky, single-ply yarn—100% American wool.
