This versatile drawstring cowl can change its look day after day. And since you can crochet one in an evening, you can do as many colors as you like! Worked in a bulky yarn with a large hook the vertical striping sets off this design. A great design to gift to others as they can use the drawstring to get just the look they like!

It’s a great ‘step two’ pattern for learning to crochet - using single crochets and double crochets.

The cowl is crocheted flat and then seamed into a circle at the end. This gives it the wonderful vertical stripes instead of horizontal.

Two yarns are listed above… both work great for this pattern. I prefer the Michael’s brand Cozy Wool because it is softer. :) If you get the Cozy Wool you will need a partial third skein because they only have 90 yds per skein as opposed to the Lion Brand that has 106 yds per skein. Thanks! :)
