Gavin's Blanket (Throw)

February 2014
Worsted (9 wpi) ?
4 stitches and 5 rows = 1 inch
US 7 - 4.5 mm
1520 - 1 yards (1390 - 1 m)
This pattern is available for C$4.50.

The blanket has vertical stripes of pattern created by the BO stitch in the pattern. Solid colours really make the pattern pop.

I love using dishie cotton because it washes so well especially for a throw blanket in a house with children or clumsy adults like me (because you know there will be spills).

I have calculated the pattern based on 8 to 10 balls of yarn. It means that it is wide. I sometimes add more balls to make it longer but then it is more like a blanket than a wide throw.

I am a chronic modifier of patterns. If you also are, then you should know the pattern is based on 18 sts, so you can change the size but ensure you have a multiple of 18 sts, plus the 4 sts of border.
