The longest side of a right triangle, opposite the right angle. Knit with two strands of Staccato held together and a tight textured stitch pattern, this cowl is bouncy and resilient. The silken right triangles catch the light in an endlessly interesting way. Knit flat and grafted to form a seamless loop, Hypotenuse is an excellent way to learn some new techniques while creating an eye-catching accessory.

Knit with two strands of Staccato held together. Sample shown in Rust.

This pattern is available as a single pattern in a printed version only from a local yarn store or online store that carries Shibui Knits line.
Currently this pattern is not available in digital format.

Errata: Row 11 should read: K1, * K1, K2tog, yo, p5, * k1.

Pattern note: Our team of sample knitters got gauge in the Hypotenuse Stitch Pattern using a size 5 needle, although the designer used a size 7 needle to get gauge. In order to achieve the wonderful 3-dimensional nature of this design, a dense fabric is needed. We always recommend knitting and blocking a gauge swatch for best results.
