Gert is a sweet slouchy hat with a cute knotted detail on the side. The soft and fluffy brushed suri alpaca makes an incredibly cozy hat that you won’t want to take off.

The hat is knit sideways starting with a provisional cast on and shaped using short rows. The two sides of the hat are joined using a kitchener graft. The knot detail is made by picking up stitches from the fabric of the hat and knitting ties. Detailed instructions are given on how to pick up the stitches.
