Graupel is named for the soft hail that falls in the cold winter months. With its densely knitted fabric it is the perfect hat to protect your head. And the large Fair Isle snowflake pattern is simple enough to make this a great first project for those that want to try colorwork!

This pattern calls for a BULKY WEIGHT yarn knit at a gauge of 4 st/in. I used Malabrigo Rios, which is a worsted weight, but held it double. If you are using a bulky weight yarn you should only need about 110 yards of the MC and no more than 50 yards of the CC.
