Simple but effective stitch patterns, textures, and color changes make the Gravers Lane shawl an interesting but relaxing knit (my favorite).

Started at one point and worked with gradual increases to the base, the pattern moves from garter ridges to mesh to textured chevrons. A side edging that echoes the chevrons is picked up last.

The finished measurements, after blocking, are a wingspan of 62” and a center back of 24.5”.

You will need just under 400 yards each of two contrasting colors in fingering weight yarn, and a US size 4(3.5mm) 32” circular needle.

Exact gauge is not crucial. Use a needle size that gives you a fabric that you like, but be aware that a change in gauge can affect the amount of yarn used and the size of the finished shawl.
