This fabulous hat is based on knitted turbans of the 1940s and is very easy to knit and construct. Knitted in one piece, the turban is gathered into shape with elastic sewn to the base and then tied into a knot at the centre front to complete that 40s look.

1 pair 3.25mm (US #3) needles
50mm wide elastic (optional)
