This easily knitted dog cowl has been made in the Gryffindor house colors.

DESCRIPTION

The dog cowl is easy to make, with beginner knitters in mind.

Using knit and purl stitches, you will create ribbing and it will also introduce you to working with two colors, decreasing and shaping.

This cowl will be super cozy to wear in the cold weather.

Yarn

1 skein of chunky yarn I used Hayfield Super Chunky With Wool in shade 0053 – Hollyhocks (Yarn A).

Yarn in a coordinating colour (mustard) (Yarn B) for the stripes in the same yarn weight.

Yarn weight – Super bulky/super chunky/14 ply.

Needles

12.00mm (US 17) 16″ or 20″ circular knitting needles.

Level – Easy

This is an easy level knitting pattern and the techniques involved are the knit stitch, purl stitch, working with two colors, increasing and decreasing.

• SIZING

Neck circumference – 17 inches

Please note – You can adjust the size by measuring the circumference of your dog’s neck and adjusting the number of sts you cast on.

Height of cowl – 6 inches

Width – 8.5 inches
