This pattern gave my old Vera Wang duffel new life! While the bag was in great condition, the handles were showing some wear. By knitting around them in i-cord fashion with feltable wool, the handles now have soft, fuzzy cushioned support and show no signs of wear and tear.

Pictures of each step of the process make pattern fool proof. Although it is written for a 1 inch wide handle of a washable bag, stitches can be added for wider handles.

US 9 double pointed needles and just 15 grams of Patons Classic wool worsted are required for each handle. When work is complete, bag is washed to felt the wool.
