針 (Japanese) - needle, spike

This cool accessory provides one with many options. Worked in a rectangular shape just like for a basic scarf using an amazing textured stitch pattern that makes this whimsy a delightful sight. Inspired by intricate pleating it transitions into knit fabric with flexibility and wearability. Wear it as a scarf, longer or shorter cowl, a snood or even a bolero. All those manipulations using minimal of haberdashery but awarding the simplest of outfit with a stunning detail.

This pattern includes written pattern as well as a chart.
Ultimately any weight yarn can be used for this pattern, but keep in mind that yardage requirements would change accordingly.

SIZES
9” wide and 45” long.
Shorter version can be worn as Cowl, Snood, Loop cowl, Shrug

Longer version can be worn as Scarf, Shawl, Long Sleeved Shrug, Doubled cowl

Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light, 100% super wash merino wool, sport weight; 440 yds/402 m; approx. 115 gr. color Cloak, short version - 1 skein; long version - 2 skeins
NOTE: Original Tosh Merino Light yarn used had 440 yds which was changed by the company to 420yds/skein now. Please plan accordingly.

EXAMPLE IN OTHER YARN
Plucky Knitter 100% Merino Superwash Worsted; 215yd/197yds; 3 skeins made long scarf version 11” wide and 80” long on US 6 (4 mm) needle; (followed instructions for shorter version).
