A top down, heel flap sock with a pretty diamond design. The slipped stitches in this pattern are caught up in later rows causing the colors to criss-cross over one another. A very pretty sock in smaller sizes, this stitch pattern is great for highlighting the fabulous color changes in hand dyed yarns.

Note: Due to the nature of the slipped stitches causing there to be less stretch than stockinette stitch, those with a high instep should knit one size larger in the leg then drop to their regular size at the gusset for the foot.

Sample knit with 60sts around leg & 56sts around foot

Instructions are given for smallest size, with larger sizes in parentheses. When only 1 number is given, it applies to all sizes.

MATERIALS:
Yarn: Bijou Spun “Lhasa Wilderness”, 75% Yak / 25% Bamboo; 180 yds (163 m); 2 oz (56 g); CYCA size 2 fingering: color , 2 skeins for most sizes

When purchasing hand-dyed yarn for a project, it’s a good idea to make sure you have enough of the same dye lot! For larger sizes, you may wish to consider purchasing a third skein for safety.
