The left and the right foot are not really identical mirror images of one another because of the direction of the travelling stitches. Since the socks are called Harold and Maude, it’s okay.

If you prefer your socks to be true mirror images of one another I would suggest you do both socks tandem up to where the foot starts. If you don’t like the differences seen in the left vs the right sock, you could simply do 5 knit or 5 purls stitches in between the travelling stitches on the foot.
