Based on a well-loved baby bonnet that had been stored in the treasure chest of a soon-to-be first-time grandmother. Her daughters had both worn the bonnet, and she had been hoping that her first grandchild would wear it, too. Sadly, the moths had other plans, and I worked with her to recreate the pattern.

Worked in less than a single skein of the most luxurious yarn you can find - truly an heirloom piece.

It’s a practically instant gratification, and makes a guaranteed winner baby gift.

Bonnet is worked flat. There are two small seams to be sewn, and an edging to be picked up, but it’s otherwise very straightforward knitting.
