’hemisphere’

Inspired by little bubbles formed on the surface of the ice in the winter, this beautiful set is knit quickly, with an option of full mittens or fingerless mitts. You could knit all four pieces, or just one or two! Makes a great last-minute gift--knitting up quickly, the pattern stitch is adapted from Walker’s Stitch Dictionaries, where it is known as the ‘blister stitch’.

Skills: -- intermediate in difficulty
Blister stitch -- link to video in pattern, not difficult
knitting in round -- on circulars and / or 4 needles, or Magic Loop for decrease section of hat, for mittens, etc.
thumb -- gusset increases are fully described, and method of thumb is putting stitches on waste yarn, and picking up later
decreases and increases -- m1b, k2tog, ssk
seaming facing of cowl -- whip stitch on inside with yarn needle

All four pieces were fully tested by four independent experienced knitters, using a variety of worsted yarns as listed above with good results!
