A good summer sweater is hard to come by. Something warm enough for evenings, and cool enough for the day time. This silky alpaca linen fabric, knit in a loose drapey gauge, makes the perfect summer fabric. Every time you wear it, it gets dramatically softer.

This light cardigan is knit top-down and is almost entirely seamless except for 2 small shoulder seams. The yoke is knit first, starting at the centre-back with a provisional cast-on. The body is then picked up and knit-down. The sleeves are then picked up and knit down to the cuff. A subtle slip-stitch border is carried down the front, and a loose eyelot border is knit along both the bottom hem and the sleeve cuffs. Short rows are used at the bottom/back of the sweater to curve the bottom hem down around the hips for a more flattering shape.

Skills Required: Provisional cast-on, picking up stitches, backwards-loop cast-on, mattress stitch, short rows
