Named for the High Line in New York City, this cowl has a simple eyelet patterning around the top and bottom, with another simple checkered, openwork pattern in the middle. Directions are both written and charted.

The double row of eyelets is reminiscent of the train tracks that were used along the west side of Manhattan in the early part of the 20th century, where trains delivered foods and goods directly into the second floor of buildings that stood immediately adjacent to the tracks. Now a park, the High Line has lots of people strolling near grass, benches, wildflowers, and more; hence the checkered pattern, to portray all the busyness that’s going on there.

This cowl is knit in the round, and it is 10” deep and 72” round, deep enough for scrunching up against your neck and chest as it loops around your neck, keeping out the wind and cold, yet long enough to wear as a single loop, which makes a statement unto itself.

Spirit Trail Fiberworks’ Brigantia is a luscious yarn made of 85% Polwarth and 15% silk that soothes your neck with its softness and drape. The variations in the color, too, add depth and beauty.
