Child’s version of Hiro, (pronounced “hero”) named for the main character in a favorite Neal Stephenson novel of mine, Snow Crash, the title of which also describes the way colors digitally fade into each other in the yoke of this sweater. Originally inspired by a textile from the Swedish design firm Little Red Stuga, I wanted to add a color gradation to their genius play of black and white.
Charts are graded according to size. Shaping for girl’s version is slightly A-line. Boy’s version is knit without shaping.
