Hokorobu gauntlets feature a geometric lace motif accentuated by nupps (bobbles) and framed on both ends by a picot edge.

A link is provided for the technique used to work nupps. They could also be replaced with beads, in which case you will need 32 beads to fit the yarn.

The gauntlets can be easily resized. Instructions to do so are given in the pattern.

The gauntlets are part of my series The Cloths of Heaven and take their name from a haiku by the Japanese poet Basho:

Hatsuzakura kao mo hokorobu sensoji

Fresh cherry blossoms
delighting the visitors
the Senso-ji
