This pattern is super simple and basically consists of a Tunisian crocheted rectangle with button holes along one edge. A great beginner project, it works up on the quicker side for a fingering weight yarn project, and is the perfect way to start crocheting with that singular skein of sock yarn you’ve been itching to work with.

The honeycomb-esque stitch pattern creates lightweight fabric with a knit-like quality that drapes beautifully about the shoulders.

The cowl itself can be worn a number of ways. I like buttoning the top 3 buttons and leaving the other three open to drape over my shoulders. It can also be worn with all buttons buttoned, or off-set the buttons to button holes for an asymmetrical look.
