To me beauty often lies within the simple things. That is the reason I try to keep it simple and craft projects with plain, natural materials and little effort.

That was my approach for the hooded baby jacket as well. As a result, you will nd here a straightforward pattern, which is knit quite swiftly; even on the side, during the last days of your pregnancy or with your baby beside you. Garter stitch projects really have the potential for meditative knitting, especially when the construction is as uncomplicated as for this one (see graphics on page 6). The body is knit in one piece from back to front, divided at the neck opening where the hood is attached later. No more than three seams need to be sewn together to achieve a practical, cosy jacket for the cold season.
