Description
These stylish, eye-catching mittens feature a classic houndstooth pattern. They knit up quickly in chunky weight yarn, but will no doubt be a favourite winter accessory for many years to come. They are knit in the round from the cuff to the fingertips, which means that you are always working from the right side of the fabric. The stranded yarn on the wrong side of the fabric acts like a liner, creating a second layer for extra warmth.
The small pattern repeat of the houndstooth stitch has several advantages. It is easy to memorize, which means that you won’t need to slow down your progress by referring to the chart often. Since there are at most 3 consecutive stitches in the same colour, twisting the yarns is not really necessary until the fingertip decrease.
These mittens will no doubt be as fun to knit as they are to wear!
