----- HUDSON HAT -----

  • Written in US terms.

  • Pattern is rated INTERMEDIATE.

  • (It involves working in the 3rd LOOP and DECREASING in the 3rd LOOP.)

  • Worked from the BOTTOM UP.

  • Size: Approx. Young Adult / Adult.

  • Any worsted weight yarn can be used with a size K hook.

  • Approx. 120 - 140 yds required.

  • (TOP 3 hats were made using Red Heart Roll With It Melange in “Show Time” for hat on TOP and “Paparazzi” for hat on BOTTOM. Yarn was allowed to transition on its own.)

  • (Hat pictured in 4th picture down photo was made using Red Heart Roll With It Melange in “Paparazzi”. Yarn was allowed to transition on its own.)

  • (For hat pictured below the TOP picture, Lion Brand Mandala Ombre was used. - Cake was deconstructed.)

  • (Gray hat was made using Premier Yarns Everyday Worsted in Mist.)

  • (For hats pictured in the MIDDLE, Caron Marble Cakes in Blue Velvet was used. - Cake was deconstructed.)

  • (Hat pictured in BOTTOM photos was made using Red Heart Roll With It Melange in “Paparazzi”. Yarn was allowed to transition on its own.)

  • You can use a 7.0 hook, if desired. (Using a 7.0 hook will make beanie somewhat larger.)

Pattern as written will result in hat having well defined stripes. Hat can also be made using a solid color or self-striping yarn that is allowed to transition on its own (without fastening off and changing colors).
