With a name meaning “behold the sun,” Idalia is an extended half circle shawl knit in worsted weight yarn, making it super warm and cozy, and large enough to wrap around your shoulders. It starts at the top center with a stockinette body, and is finished with an airy lace border and a crocheted bind off along the scalloped edge.

Adjust size by working stockinette section to any length desired, or work shawl in different yarn weight and needle size (yarn requirements will vary as a result). Pattern includes written and charted instructions.

Also included are instructions for both the alternate original edging (final 2 rows and bind off) and the final modified edging. The alternate edging is seen in the modeled photos, and the final modified edging in the detailed shot and the 2nd test knitter’s photo. Please note the alternate edging will use considerably more yardage.
