This versatile piece can be carried as a bag or filled like a box with toys or treasures. Taking my cue from The Three Little Pigs, I reinforced this piece with straw so that the sides won’t flop over. The sides are worked in the round for minimal seaming. Carrying the yarn in front across multiple stitches creates a pattern like baled straw. Corners are knit in garter stitch to maintain a similar gauge to the body of the bag. After knitting, plastic drinking straws are inserted along each edge for support. Super bulky yarns means it knits up quickly without a fuss.

I’d love to see your projects! Please share them in Lisa Kereliuk Designs group!
