This is a knitting pattern for an adorable cotton hat for newborns through three months. It is styled after the 1920’s cloche hats with a brim that slopes down in the front. It will keep baby comfortable and has no seams to sew or to irritate her little head.

This would make a precious baby gift, or knit for the special babies in your life. It is also great as a photography prop!

It is an easy pattern using only a garter stitch (with an explanation of how to work “garter” front and back or in the round. The pattern requires both. An optional half-double crochet edging is also included for contrasting appeal.

The cotton yarn is soft and easy on the hands while knitting. Care instructions suggest gentle hand washing and air drying.

Required materials include:
#8 - 16” circular needle
#8 - Double pointed needles
Size I/9 crochet hook (optional for edging)
2 skeins - Bernat Cottontots yarn (enough for two hats or more!)
