Pour yourself a cuppa & enjoy a relaxing few minutes being taught by a fine teacher.
Yellowdog has a tutorial video from the Inspira Cowl Big Delight KAL, held during the summer of 2012 on her website yellowdogknitting.com. Step-by-step guidance is offered for her own cowl project, Inspira Video KAL, Mesa Rock version. Various techniques are demonstrated, including stranding options for knitting the corrugated rib. No matter which of the three versions you knit, the elegant and succinct Inspira Cowl Video Workshop is helpful.
Please, should you wish to use a picture, do kindly receive permission first if using another person’s project. Thanks :)
Inspira Cowl is worked in the round on circular needles. Corrugated ribbing is used, where two different coloured yarns are stranded across each round. The ribbing height varies throughout for each of the three cowl options. After two plain knit rows, the corrugated ribbing pattern shifts, or is staggered, i.e., previous knit columns become purl columns. This graphic shift of colour & texture is what gives Inspira it’s dynamic flow.
A gauge swatch is recommended. Noticing among the projects the fit & particular CO numbers others have successfully used for their cowls may help beyond what is noted in the pattern.
Wishing you fun knitting your own unique Inspira Cowl.
